For nearly a century, Novo Nordisk has been a leader in diabetes care, supplying nearly half the world with insulin and advancing education, treatment, and care of the disease. In recent years, the company has innovated the market by turning their attention from doctors to patients. We implemented augmented reality to reimagine medical instructions for Novo Nordisk’s latest ‘smart’ insulin pen. Children and teenagers living with diabetes—digital natives who can find it difficult to follow instructions—were the tutorial’s primary audience. In another effort to support children living with diabetes, ONSLOT developed interactive videos that capture success stories of people living with T1 diabetes—NFL players, chefs, country music stars, and IndyCar drivers—high profile figures who exemplify that diabetes doesn’t limit one’s achievements. The videos were part of a discovery booth at the annual Children with Diabetes Event.
ONSLOT’s “The Novo Way” demystified recent company innovations for 4,000+ Novo Nordisk sales representatives at the company’s Point of Action event. To support patient education, ONSLOT deployed over 2,000 Oculus headsets with a custom VR experience to sales representatives across the globe. ONSLOT’s work at the Children with Diabetes and Americans with Diabetes Association events reached thousands of people living with the condition. The experiential initiatives ONSLOT put in place, and continue to support, set a new tone for the marketing innovations a century-old company can employ to push healthcare forward.
